Public Information Office
The Public Information Office of the Supreme Judicial Court is the central communications office for media and public inquiries and requests concerning the Massachusetts judicial branch.
In its community relations role, the Public Information Office conducts the annual Judicial Youth Corps program for high school students, the annual Supreme Judicial Court Student Government Day program, Law Day programs, and facilitates courthouse visits for schools and other groups. The Public Information Office maintains a Speakers Bureau comprised of judges and court officials available to address community groups, organizations and schools on topics relating to the judicial branch.
In its media relations role, the Public Information Office offers assistance, guidance, and support to judges and court personnel in responding to the media, to assist with media interviews, and to promote specific court programs or activities. The Office provides the media with public information about court cases and schedules, procedures, policies, and background information for editorials. The Public Information Office also is the support staff for the Supreme Judicial Court's Judiciary/Media Committee.
