Governor Deval L. Patrick and Judges Hold Informational Exchange

Governor Deval L. Patrick met with members of the Judicial Branch on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at the Supreme Judicial Court at the invitation of Chief Justice Margaret H. Marshall. In an effort to provide the Governor with information about court issues and challenges, representative Trial Court judges reviewed the activities and priorities of their departments. Governor Patrick engaged in active dialogue with the fifty gathered judges for more than an hour. The informational exchange provided the Governor with insights about the criminal and civil sessions and caseloads, management reforms, information technology upgrades, improved service to court users, educational programs, and judicial accountability initiatives that are taking place throughout the court system.

Speakers included Superior Court Judge Ralph D. Gants, Superior Court Judge Margaret R. Hinkle, Suffolk Juvenile Court Judge Leslie Harris, Regional Administrative and Wareham District Court Justice Rosemary Minehan, and First Justice Gail L. Perlman of the Hampshire Probate and Family Court. Supreme Judicial Court Justices Robert A. Cordy, John M. Greaney and Roderick L. Ireland also gave brief presentations.
