Executive Office of the Trial Court Announces Two Appointments
Director of Research & Planning & Trial Court Communications Manager Named
BOSTON, MA - Chief Justice of the Trial Court Paula M. Carey and Court Administrator Harry Spence announce the appointment of Linda K. Holt as the Director of Research & Planning and Jennifer L. Bruni as Trial Court Communications Manager.
Linda K. Holt, Director of Research & Planning. Ms. Holt was most recently the Research Director at the Massachusetts Sentencing Commission, where she spent 19 years designing and implementing research programs that support judicial sentencing guidelines in Massachusetts. She previously spent 13 years in research-related positions at the Massachusetts Department of Correction.
The Trial Court recently formed the Department of Research & Planning / Sentencing Commission to facilitate a system-wide approach to research needs and applications. In her new role, Ms. Holt will head the department engaged in quantitative and qualitative analysis to assist in the strategic planning and reporting for the Trial Court. She will also manage research projects devoted to advancing data-driven decision making and reporting throughout the Trial Court. This department also will continue to provide staff support for the Sentencing Commission and issue a range of reports on Trial Court activity.
Ms. Holt is a graduate of Tufts University, where she received her M.A. in Sociology, and of UMASS Amherst, where she received her B.A. in Sociology. She also completed coursework at the MIT Sloan School of Management in Operations Research and Applied Statistics.
Jennifer L. Bruni, Trial Court Communications Manager. Ms. Bruni comes to the Trial Court from the private sector, where for the past 11 years she was a professional marketing and communications consultant working primarily with financial services and insurance clients, including Liberty Mutual, Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, Eagle Investment Systems, State Street, and Fidelity Investments, among others.
Ms. Bruni will be responsible for the Trial Court’s internal communications, and will work with the Executive Office of the Trial Court and the SJC Public Information Office to update and improve the Trial Court’s online and print content and materials. She will help ensure an effective and timely flow of news and information about the Trial Court to its employees and court users.
Ms. Bruni graduated from Barnard College, Columbia University with a B.A. in History, and from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Business with an M.B.A. in Finance.
