Christopher Bowman, Chairman

Christopher Bowman was appointed to a five-year term on the Civil Service Commission in 2006 and he currently serves as the Board’s Chairman.

 

Bowman began his career in state government in 1991 working for the Department of Revenue's Child Support Enforcement Division.  In 1998, Bowman was hired by the Division of Employment of Training where he eventually served as Chief of Staff until 2004.  Most recently, Bowman served as the Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Economic Development until he was appointed to the Commission.

Bowman was a member of the Town of Yarmouth's Board of Selectmen from 1991 to 1997, serving as the Board's Chairman from 1995 - 1997.  He received a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1991 and a Masters in Public Administration from Suffolk University in 1998.  He is currently a resident of Dorchester.
