John J. Guerin, Jr., Commissioner

Commissioner Guerin was appointed to the Civil Service Commission in January 2004.

Previous to his appointment, Guerin served as Mayor of the City of Haverhill from January 2002 until January 2004. He served four two-year terms as a City Councilor in Haverhill from January 1992 until January 2000. He was Council Vice President for two years and Council President for five years.

Prior to his election as Mayor, Guerin was the general manager of Haverhill Beef Company where he had been employed for over twenty years. He attended Nichols College majoring in Public Administration and New Hampshire College majoring in Business Administration. Guerin and his wife, Lisa, reside in Haverhill.
