COASTSWEEP, Massachusetts annual volunteer beach cleanup program, is part of an international campaign organized by The Ocean Conservancy in Washington, DC. Participants all over the world collect marine debris and record the types of material they find. This information is then used to help reduce future marine debris problems. Each fall, cleanups are held all along the Massachusetts coastline. Volunteers can join scheduled cleanups or organize their own cleanup. Sponsors provide all necessary materials.
