Community Education Workshops

The Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve offers workshops for community members. The Green Home workshop generally focuses on energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements that people can do in their homes to save energy, money, and the environment. The Cape-friendly Landscaping workshop gives tips to homeowners on having a beautiful yard without using a lot of water, fertilizers, or pesticides. Lastly, the Coastal Dynamics Course introduces homeowners to the geology of Cape Cod and human impacts on the coastline, as well as the laws surrounding building on the coast. This course includes a field trip to visit geologic features. Workshop offerings vary from year to year.
