Windows on the Wild "Oceans of Life" Education Module The module, intended for use with middle school educators and their students, begins with informative background information on marine biodiversity, discussing what it is, why it's important, why it's at risk, and what can be done to protect it. The background information is followed by engaging introductory activities that bring the marine world closer to each person, whether in Cape Cod or Idaho. The main portion of the guide takes a case study approach. Each case study focuses on a marine topic or issue and includes its own background information, four to five activities, and a list of resources on the topic. Case studies include sharks, coral reefs, shrimp, alien species, and salmon. With a total of 27 interdisciplinary activities, the module covers a range of approaches and creative ways to engage students. Contact Information
