Restoration Partnerships
Partnerships are essential to all effective restoration efforts. WRP has sought planning input and participation from the eight coastal communities within the study area, as well as from various government agencies and nongovernmental groups. The list below includes many of these partners, some of which participate with WRP in the Great Marsh Restoration Team. This group, originally called the Great Marsh Salt Marsh Team, originated after the first Great Marsh Summit in 1996 (organized by Massachusetts Audubon Society). Salt marsh restoration was one of four goals identified through the Summit . Today, the Team focuses on aquatic habitat restoration planning, implementation, monitoring, education, and outreach in the geographic region of the Great Marsh. The Team has helped identify and complete many restoration projects over the past decade. Future project development and implementation efforts that follow the completion of the Plan will also involve the Team members and many other partners including those listed below. Asterisks (*) indicate Great Marsh Restoration Team members. For links to the websites of numerous resouration and regional partners, please see the Great Marsh Resources and Weblinks page.
