District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey is dedicated to making Norfolk County a safer place to live.  He created this unit to provide community partners with the information and resources they need to keep residents safe from crime, addiction, neglect and unhealthy relationships.

These collaborations bring together experts to work together to develop and implement prevention strategies in Norfolk County.
Our community partners include:

  • Police and Fire Departments
  • Parents
  • Councils on Aging
  • Schools, Colleges and Universities
  • Community Coalitions
  • Health Care Providers
  • Public Health Agencies
  • Clergy
  • Civic Organizations

Services
The following services are available through the
Crime Prevention Unit:

  • information and resources

  • program planning and consulting assistance
  • grant-making collaborations
  • presenters, trainers, facilitators and guest speakers
  • workshops, trainings and conferences for teachers, parents, law enforcement, kids and teens and community, criminal justice and business organizations*

*Certificates of completion are available for PDP's (Professional Development Points), CEU's (Continuing Education Units) and general professional development purposes.

Community Partners

Few violence, delinquency, crime or disorder problems are the responsibility of, or can be solved by, any single individual, agency or organization. Solutions come from a number of community partners working together, each making important contributions to the overall solution. The collective and collaborative approach to violence and crime prevention works.
