The mission of District Attorney William R. Keating's Education and Intervention Services Unit is to prevent and reduce crime and violence in the homes, schools and communities of Norfolk County.

Building relationships and coalitions among a wide array of community partners, the Education and Intervention Services Unit develops, promotes and delivers crime and violence prevention, education and intervention programs and services.

Services
The following services are available through the Education and Intervention Services Unit:
  • information, resources and referrals
  • curricula, print and video educational materials
  • program planning and consulting assistance
  • grant-making collaborations
  • presenters, trainers, facilitators and guest speakers
  • workshops, trainings and conferences for teachers, parents, law enforcement, kids and teens and community, criminal justice and business organizations*

*Certificates of completion are available for PDP's (Professional Development Points), CEU's (Continuing Education Units) and general professional development purposes.

Partners in Prevention
Prominent among the collaborations that the District Attorney's office has entered into is Partners in Prevention, a project of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA). Partners in Prevention brings together a wide array of groups devoted to providing violence and substance abuse prevention services and resources to the students of Massachusetts. Few violence, delinquency, crime or disorder problems are the responsibility of, or can be solved by, any single individual, agency or organization.
