The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit of the Norfolk District Attorney's Office is currently staffed with 21 State Police Officers. State Police Officers from this unit respond and investigate all unattended deaths in the Norfolk District and act as the designated investigative representative of the Norfolk District Attorney. They also work hand-in-hand with local police detectives on all homicides as well as many other types of cases.

One Sergeant and three troopers work almost exclusively in the area of narcotics and organized crime investigations. They are also part of the Norfolk County Drug Task Force, which includes officers from the Weymouth, Quincy, Cohasset, Milton, and Wrentham Police Departments assigned to work in areas of mutual interest and concern.
