MAN STABBED LAST MONTH SUCUMBS TO INJURIES March 18, 2008 An East Boston man stabbed outside a Chelsea tavern three weeks ago has succumbed to his injuries, Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley and Chelsea Police Chief Brian Kyes announced today. Luis Garcia-Calle, 22, died at Massachusetts General Hospital early yesterday morning – 20 days after he was stabbed by an assailant outside 9 Williams Street at about 12:15 a.m. on Feb. 27. Garcia-Calle had undergone multiple surgeries during that time, but medical experts were unable to save him. Responding emergency medical technicians transported Garcia-Calle to MGH, where he remained in grave condition until yesterday. State and Chelsea police continue to investigate all the facts and circumstances of the incident. Specifically, they are also searching for a suspect described as an adult Salvadoran male, approximately 5’5” in height, between 20 and 30 years old with almond-shaped eyes and black hair.
