GRAND JURY INDICTS MAN, WOMAN FOR ’07 DOUBLE MURDER March 7, 2008 The Suffolk County Special Grand Jury today returned a pair of indictments charging a Dorchester man and a Taunton woman with the murders of two young men and the non-fatal shooting of a third in Roxbury last summer, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley announced. The Suffolk County Special Grand Jury returned indictments charging ALEXANDER BOLLING, 24 (DOB 6/17/83), of Mattapan and TANEIKA BRITT, 31 (DOB 9/25/76), of Taunton with two counts each of first-degree murder for the shooting deaths of Jessie Calhoun and Robert Turner on the morning of Aug. 2, 2007. The indictments further charge both defendants with one count each of armed assault to murder for the non-fatal shooting of a 27-year-old male in the same incident. Evidence developed in the course of an extensive and far-reaching six-month investigation suggests that the victims, in one car, crossed paths with the defendants, in a separate car, at about 2:00 a.m. on Williams Street in Roxbury. Investigators believe that all the parties exited their vehicles and that the defendants fired a series of shots that claimed Calhoun and Turner’s lives and injured the surviving victim. The surviving victim drove himself to the Boston Police District 2 station and was transported to an area hospital. Almost simultaneously, Boston Police and emergency medical technicians responded to the crime scene to find Calhoun dead of his injuries and Turner mortally wounded. Boston Police homicide detectives arrested Bolling and Britt in December. Both are currently being held without bail. “With the evidence developed in the Special Grand Jury over a period of five months, we were able to determine the shooters’ identities and find probable cause for an arrest in December,” Conley said. “By keeping that investigation open, by testing and retesting the evidence, we now have a much clearer picture of exactly what transpired on Williams Street and we’re ready to bring it to court.” Bolling is represented by attorney John Palmer and Britt by Elda James. A Superior Court arraignment is expected Tuesday.
