BROTHERS CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH CHELSEA MURDER April 30, 2008 A 21-year-old Chelsea man and his teenage brother were arraigned this morning in Chelsea District Court on charges in connection with the home invasion and fatal stabbing of their mother’s live-in boyfriend last night, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley announced. EUGENE TEIXEIRA (D.O.B. 3/25/87) was charged with armed home invasion and murder; his 16-YEAR-OLD brother was also charged with armed home invasion, and a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. Evidence suggests that on the morning of April 29, the mother and her boyfriend, Shadeed Wiggins, asked the two defendants to leave her Chester Avenue home following an argument. Teixeira and his brother left the home for a period of time, but returned sometime before 4 p.m. carrying baseball bats. The two defendants pounded on the door before forcing their way into the home, where they found Wiggins and their mother inside. Leading the charge, Teixeira allegedly began to beat Wiggins with the baseball bat. At some point during the altercation between the two men, Teixeira got possession of a knife, which he used to stab the victim eight times, wounding him in the areas of the chest, neck, face and hands. Following the stabbing, Teixeira fled the scene, and was later apprehended in Cambridge. His 16-year-old brother was outside of the Chester Avenue home when Massachusetts State Police and Chelsea Police officers responded to the incident. Wiggins was rushed to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Judge James H. Wexler ordered that Teixeira be held without bail. The 16-year-old juvenile remains in custody pending a bail argument hearing scheduled for 11 a.m. tomorrow morning in Chelsea District Court. Teixeira is represented by attorney George Murphy. The 16-year-old juvenile is represented by attorney Stephen Weymouth.
