All hearings at DALA are tape recorded unless a party provides for and pays for a stenographer. Copy of the tape. If you would like a copy of the tape of your hearing, please send a written request and a $10.00 check payable to “Commonwealth of Massachusetts” to cover postage and handling to: Docket Clerk, DALA, 98 North Washington Street, 4th Floor, Boston, MA 02114. The Docket Clerk will then send an acknowledgement of the request, giving the cost of the copied tape (approximately $25.00 per tape). The Docket Clerk will send the tape to Dictronics, Inc. in Needham for copying. Dictronics, Inc. will forward a copy of the tape to you after Dictronics, Inc. has received payment. Please note that a tape cannot be sent for copying until after the Administrative Magistrate has issued a decision. Any questions concerning access to tapes from Civil Service hearings should be made directly to the Civil Service Commission, Tel. No. 617-727-2293. Transcription of the tape. If you would like a tape of your hearing transcribed by JMS Support Services, please contact JMS Support Services, 194 Linwood Avenue, Newton, MA 02460, Tel. No. 617-795-1630. JMS Support Services should be able to provide an estimate of the cost of the transcription service. You should then contact The Docket Clerk, DALA, 98 North Washington Street, 4th Floor, Boston, MA 02114, and ask that the tape be sent to JMS Support Services.
