Plymouth County Drug & Alcohol Resistance Education, Summer ProgramSummer Program is a great opportunity for children entering grades five or six throughout Plymouth County to make their summer a fun learning experience. Sponsored by the District Attorney's Office and the Plymouth County Drug Education Officers, the program is a one-of-a-kind experience that blends cultural diversity, education, and fun. The program is offered free of charge. Students spend a week learning skills to resist alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, and violence. They are surrounded by positive role models who are committed to making the experience as rewarding as possible. Program enrollment includes:
The Plymouth County Drug & Alcohol Resistance Education, Summer Program provides a structured environment that instructs young people on responsibility, leadership, risk identification, decision-making, discipline, awareness, and most importantly: The course framework helps participants to recognize the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse and other illegal activities. The program combines outdoor activities with Drug & Alcohol Resistance Education lessons to create a unique environment for children to foster growth and respect under the guidance of peer leaders, Drug Education Officers and School Resource Officers from their own communities. This year's program is dedicated in memory of Officer Gerald Mont of the Whitman Police Department. Gerry, a former D.A.R.E. Officer, passed away suddenly last January. He was a 17 year veteran on the department, and was a member of our program. ![]() | ||||||||
