Cruz As the chief law enforcement official in Plymouth County, District Attorney Cruz is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all residents of Plymouth County. The primary responsibility of the District Attorney’s Office is to prosecute criminal offenses that occur within the county. The Family Protection and Domestic Violence Units, within the District Attorney’s Office, have been designed to enhance the prosecution of domestic violence and sexual assault cases, as well as address the specific needs of the victims. McDonald, Jr. The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in Massachusetts. The three primary responsibilities of Sheriff McDonald is to operate the Plymouth County Correctional Facility; assist in Public Safety throughout the county; and to oversee the delivery of legal documents needed to support the operation of the courts. BF&CR specializes in mental health, substance abuse and domestic violence services. Womansplace Crisis Center offers free confidential services to women and children who have experienced sexual assault and/or domestic violence. These services are provided in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Cape Verdean Creole. South Shore Women’s Resource Center offers services for victims of domestic violence and their children.
