OFFICER HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM

March 25, 2009

A Boston Municipal Court arraignment date has been scheduled for JOSEPH HOUSTON, 29, on two counts of assault and battery and a single count of open and gross lewdness.

Houston is expected to be arraigned April 8 on the new charges, which come about two months after he allegedly exposed himself and urinated on a 17-year-old female and a 21-year-old male, both from Connecticut, who were attending a Jan. 18 Metallica concert at the TD Banknorth Garden.

A Brewster Police officer at the time of the incident, Houston was arrested by MBTA Transit Police for trespassing at North Station. That case was sparked by Houston’s ejection from the concert and subsequent refusal to leave the area after repeated orders to do so by officers.

Instead of leaving, the apparently intoxicated Houston is said to have flashed his Brewster Police Department badge to one officer and referred to another as “Obama.” He was escorted out, only to return once more in violation of the officers’ orders; Transit Police took him into custody at that time.

Houston’s arraignment on the new charges was scheduled to coincide with his next court date in the trespassing case. He is represented by attorney Thomas Drechsler.
