CAPE MAN TO PAY RESTITUTION, GET TREATMENT FOR URINE FLAP April 8, 2009 A former Brewster police officer admitted to facts sufficient for a finding of guilty in the Boston Municipal Court today, effectively ending his prosecution for urinating on two Connecticut residents at a Metallica concert earlier this year and then refusing to leave North Station when ordered to do so by MBTA Transit Police. Boston Municipal Court Judge Michael Coyne continued the trespassing case against JOSEPH HOUSTON for a period of three months and the charges of assault, assault and battery, and indecent exposure for 18 months on the condition that Houston repay the victims and their families $2,631.20 for the price of their tickets; that he undergo alcohol evaluation and treatment; and that he not challenge his termination by the Brewster Police Department. If Houston abides by those conditions and does not re-offend, the charges will be dismissed. If he does not abide by them or does re-offend, the case will be put back on track for trial. Prior to accepting Houston’s offer to resolve the case prior to trial, prosecutors spoke with members of the family on whom Houston urinated at the TD BankNorth Garden on the night of Jan. 18. Those victims approved of today’s resolution. Attorney Thomas Drechsler represented Houston.
