WELCOME AND THANK YOU FOR VISITING
One of District Attorney Daniel F. Conley's top priorities is the protection of the children of Suffolk County. To further that goal, District Attorney Conley increased his office's efforts to prevent, investigate and prosecute the online exploitation of children. The Internet is a useful tool, and a staple of everyday life. For children however, including those in Suffolk County, the Internet also carries significant risk as a conduit for illegal, and potentially harmful, communications from strangers. To help children and their parents understand -- and avoid -- the risks posed by Internet communication, District Attorney Conley implemented a comprehensive outreach campaign to educate families about safe Internet use. The district attorney and members of his staff regularly visit schools in Suffolk County to bring their message directly to the young people of Suffolk County, and to their parents and teachers. Additionally, the District Attorney created a new Computer Crime Division within his office. That division works closely with the federal Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
