ADVISORY GROUP OF STAKEHOLDERS
The Advisory Group of Stakeholders is composed of a representative group of stakeholders who reflect the various interest categories related to the public benefits and values of forests. It will have approximately 20 members drawn from the citizen stewardship, economic development, environmental, forestry, government/municipal, landowner, recreational, and wildlife/habitat stakeholder interest group communities.
MODR is working with the various stakeholder communities to identify appropriate representatives, using the following criteria for potential members:
- Represent of stakeholder group(s), not individual, interests
- Knowledgeable about forest management issues on both a stakeholder and, if possible, a regional or national basis
- Command the trust, respect, and support of the constituency(cies) or group(s) they represent
- Possess the ability to articulate their group(s) perspective as a collective entity of organizations
- Able to communicate back to their groups
- Able to work productively with others
- Represent the geographic areas and demographics of their group(s)
