RMP Program Update: January 2009

RMPs Completed and RMPs Underway

As of January, 2009 six Resource Management Plans (RMPs) have been completed and approved by the DCR Stewardship Council.  Please see RMPs Adopted by the Stewardship Council to download copies of these Plans. Please see RMP projects underway for more information. 

RMP Statewide Survey

In 2008 the Regional Planning Program prepared a Statewide Survey. The objectives of the survey are to:

1. Establish an accessible data resource that will facilitate the preparation of RMPs by collecting and synthesizing readily available digital data, with the intention of shortening the amount of time needed to complete an RMP.
2. Provide a “roadmap” to future planning efforts by producing a sequence of RMPs based on a systematic assessment of resource value and planning need.
3. Inventory existing planning documents to ensure that previous efforts are not duplicated and to efficiently gather background information for future RMPs.
4. Identify data gaps that might hinder efforts to prepare RMPs.
