State Labor Service Positions
Application Process
Applicants file a Labor Service application with the Human Resources Division
(HRD), at Commonwealth Of Massachusetts, Human Resources Division,
One Ashburton Place, Boston, MA 02108
Applicants are assigned a Labor Service eligible number by HRD.
Applicants receive written notification of their assigned eligible number.
Applicants' names are placed on the labor service register in order of their labor
service eligible number for five years from receipt of application in HRD.
The applicant may request in-writing that their name remain on the list for an
additional five years only.
The names of veterans appear at the top of the list in order of their eligible
number.
Applicants may add job titles, for which they qualify, to their eligible number by
letter.
Applicants are notified when their name is reached for certification.
Applicants must remember that it is very important to update their address in writing,
when a change in address has taken place.
