Fall Foliage Season in the Parks Whether you prefer scenic drives to view summit vistas, peaceful walks against colorful foliage backdrops, or bike rides amongst falling leaves, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) offers these suggestions on how you can get the most out of fall foliage season.
A guide to Massachusetts mountain summits that offer excellent fall foliage vistas from the Berkshires to the Boston area. Gain a bird’s-eye-view of the season’s colors by hiking to summit tops, or enjoy a pleasant walk under brilliantly hued canopies, alongside ponds, streams and meadows. DCR bike rail trails are also popular locations for enjoying fall foliage, while walking, bike riding, skating or horseback riding.
Enjoy foliage views and pleasant company by joining an organized hiking or walking club in the state parks.
