PUBLIC MEETING SCHEDULED TO DISCUSS DEMOLITION AND REPLACEMENT OF THE SHADE SHELTER AND REPAIR TO THE

CAUSEWAY AT CASTLE ISLAND

BOSTON – The state Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) has scheduled a public meeting Tuesday, April 3, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., at the Carson Beach Bathhouse, 165 Day Boulevard in South Boston, to discuss the demolition and replacement of the Shade Shelter, known as the Sugar Bowl, on Head Island, and repairs to the Causeway at Castle Island in South Boston.

DCR plans to demolish the existing shelter this spring. The site will be cleaned and cleared of debris and the area will be open for the summer.
