DCR Public Meetings: RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PLANNING

Public Participation Guidelines

Resource Management Plans (RMPs) provide a guide to the short and long-term management of properties under the stewardship of the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR).  Massachusetts General Law Chapter 21, section 2F requires these plans for all reservations, parks, and forests under the care and control of DCR.

Public involvement during the development, review, and adoption of RMPs is a cornerstone of the planning process.  By engaging the public in dialogue while planning for the future of its reservations, parks, and forests, DCR will enhance communication and cooperation between park visitors and the surrounding communities and ensure transparency in our stewardship efforts.  DCR's Resource Management Planning Public Participation Guidelines can be found at http://dcr.env.govt.state.ma.us:81/stewardship/rmp/participation.htm.
