This forest provides a wide variety of recreational pursuits including, boating, swimming and fishing at Laurel Lake with its beautiful, brick-lined lakeshore, camping, picnicking, hunting, horseback riding and winter sports. The woodlands are interlaced by 8 miles of forest roads, and numerous trails lead to points of scenic interest.

Things to know before you go…
Campground Office Hours: 9am–10pm
• Camping Season: late May through Labor Day weekend

Park Directions

The forest is located in north central Massachusetts.

To Recreation Area & Campground:

From the East/Northeast/Southeast

  • Take I-495 to exit 29, Rt. 2 west.
  • Follow Rt. 2 west for 48 miles to exit 13, Rt. 2A east. (No “Exit 13” sign)
  • Drive 0.5 mile on Rt. 2A east and turn left onto Moss Brook Rd.
  • Drive 2 miles on Moss Brook Rd. and turn left onto Long Pond Rd.
  • Drive 0.5 mile on Long Pond Rd.
  • Park contact station is on the left.

OR

  • Take 1-90 (MA PIKE)west to exit 10 onto I-290 north.
  • Drive 7.3 miles on I-290 north to exit 19, I-190 north.
  • Drive 18.75 miles on I-190 north and merge onto Rt. 2 west.
  • Drive 36.5 miles on Rt. 2 west to exit 13, Rt. 2A east. (No “Exit 13” sign)
  • Drive 0.5 mile on Rt. 2A east and turn left onto Moss Brook Rd.
  • Drive 2 miles on Moss Brook Rd. and turn left onto Long Pond Rd.
  • Drive 0.5 mile on Long Pond Rd.
  • Park contact station is on left.

From the West

  • Take Rt. 2 east to Exit 13 onto Rt. 2A east. (No “Exit 13” sign)
  • Drive 0.5 mile on Rt. 2A east and turn left onto Moss Brook Rd.
  • Drive 2 miles on Moss Brook Rd. and turn left onto Long Pond Rd.
  • Drive 0.5 mile on Long Pond Rd.
  • Park contact station is on the left.

From the Northwest/Southwest

  • Take I-91 to Exit 27 onto Rt. 2 east.
  • Drive 14.4 miles on Rt. 2 east to exit 13 (Rt. 2A east). (No “Exit 13” sign)
  • Drive 0.5 mile on Rt. 2A east and turn left on Moss Brook Rd.
  • Drive 2 miles on Moss Brook Rd. and turn left on Long Pond Rd.
  • Drive 0.5 mile on Long Pond Rd.
  • Park Contact Station is on left.

To Headquarters

  • Take Rt. 2 west or east to exit 13 onto Rt. 2A east. (No “Exit 13” sign)
  • Drive 0.1 miles on Rt. 2A east.
