Quinsigamond State Park consists of two sites
located on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester: Regatta Point and Lake
Park. The 25 acre Regatta Point area offers facilities for swimming,
sailing, picnicking and fishing. The area is used extensively for
sailing and rowing crew regattas.
The 2,000 meter rowing course established on Lake
Quinsigamond is internationally recognized as one of the best courses
in the world. The Lake Park area provides a number of recreational
opportunities including a picnic area, swimming beach and tennis
courts.
Park Directions
Quinsigamond State Park is located near Worcester in central Massachusetts.
From the East or Northeast: Take Rte. 495 to Rte. 290 West, follow 290 West until exit 22 (Main St. Shrewsbury); take a right at the bottom of the ramp, then through the lights take the fourth left onto North Lake Ave. Proceed south 1.4 miles; UMASS power plant and Hospital is on right, park entrance is on the left: watch for a break in the median strip.
From the East or West on the Mass Turnpike: Take the Millbury exit off the Mass Pike (Rte. I-90), turn left at the bottom of the ramp onto Rte. 122 North (Grafton St.) until the third set of lights. Take a right onto Sunderland Rd. to the next set of lights; then take a left on Lake Ave. Proceed 2.3 miles, cross Rte 9; park entrance is on the right.
From the West: Traveling Rte 290: Proceed East on Rte 290 to the Plantation St exit, take a right at the bottom of the ramp then take a left onto Natural History Rd, Natural History Road then becomes North Lake Ave within 300 feet proceed South 1 mile Park entrance is on the left, (watch for a break in the median strip. UMASS power plant and Hospital is on right.)
From East or West on Rte. 9: From the east take Rte. 9 West until you cross Lake Quinsigamond; take first right onto Lake Ave North. Park entrance is on right. From the eest take Rte. 9 East until last set of lights before crossing Lake Quinsigamond; take a left at this set of lights onto Lake Ave North. Park entrance is on right.
Lake Park: from the Regatta Point entrance travel south on Lake Ave., crossing Rte. 9, for 1.1 miles to the Lake Park entrance. The entrance is on the left hand side (the first left in divided road after Worcester Rink). |
