Community Boating: Located on the Boston side of the Esplanade on the Charles river between the Hatch Shell and Longfellow Bridge. Season April 1 to October 31. Lessons and boat usage for youth and adults and beginner and advances sailors in a variety of boats, kayaks and windsurfers. Kids 10-18 sail all summer for only $1.00 in the Junior Program. 617-523-1038.

Sailing Races
Sailing Races are usually held on a three-buoy course. Boats jockey for position at the start, trying to cross the starting line when the whistle is blown. Whistles also signal penalty. Single Handed Regatta, Mercury series, Women's racing, as well as high-performance boats.

Kids Sail the Stars Community Boating: This event pairs kids from the CBI Youth Program with local and national celebrities. The catch is that the kids skipper the boat! Lots of fun and BBQ to follow. Lower Basin between Longfellow and Mass. Ave. Bridges: 617-523-1038.

Community Boating also offers racing throughout the season. This includes formal and informal races for youth and adults, windsurfing and Laser races.
