This quiet year-round campground at the beginning of Cape Cod has over 285 sites in a wooded setting (camping site 1; camping site 2). Yurt camping is now available. More than 15 miles of roads and trails provide hiking and equestrian access to over 700 acres of pitch pine and scrub oak landscape. Parking access to the beach at Scusset State Reservation is provided in camping fee.

Things to know before you go…


Campground office hours are 8am-10pm. The regular camping season is from mid-April through mid-October. Off-season camping is available.

 

Park Directions
Shawme-Crowell State Forest is located on Cape Cod in southeastern Massachusetts.

From the North:

  • Take Route 3 south to the Sagamore Bridge and Route 6 East.
  • Follow Route 6 over the bridge to exit 2 and the intersection with Route 130
  • Follow Route 130 into Sandwich
  • Follow the State Forest signs three miles to the forest entrance on the left

From the South:

  • Take MA 28 North
  • At the traffic circle take the first exit to Sandwich Road
  • Slight right onto Main Street

From the East:

  • Take Route 6 West
  • Take exit 2 and the intersection with Route 130
  • Follow Route 130 into Sandwich
  • Follow the State Forest signs three miles to the forest entrance on the left

From the West:

  • Take Route 495 south to the intersection with Route 6 East.
  • Follow Route 6 along the Cape Cod Canal to the intersection with Route 3 and Sagamore Bridge
  • Follow Route 6 east over the Sagamore Bridge to Exit 2 in Sandwich
  • Follow Route 130 into Sandwich
  • Follow the State Forest signs three miles to the forest entrance on the left
