The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation is
pleased to provide this Historic Landscape Bibliography, intended
primarily for use by those seeking practical information and technical
assistance. Some sources of general historical and academic interest
are also included.
Many of the following sources are books produced by mainstream
publishing houses that may be available in libraries or bookstores.
Information on how to obtain some of the less easily acquired
references, such as government publications, is provided. As noted,
some references are available in their entirety for download on
the Internet. Web sites that provide general information and technical
assistance about landscape preservation are included in our links
(see navigation at left).
