Participating Communities
Twenty-nine communities participated
in DCR’s Historic Cemeteries Preservation Initiative, which
documented thirty-two burial grounds across the Commonwealth. Dating
from 1642 to 1890, these sites contain important historical and
genealogical information and reflect the evolution of cemetery
design over three centuries. The following communities participated
