Employment Opportunities

The Bureau of Ranger Services currently fills several long-term seasonal Ranger I positions each year. Most positions start in early May and run into October. Positions are filled through submission of resumes and an interview process. Entry level applicants must have at least (A) 2 years of full-time, or equivalent part-time experience in park or resource management, environmental education, water resources or water supply management, or natural/cultural history interpretation or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

Substitutions: An Associate’s degree or higher with a major in park or recreation management, natural resources management, water resources management, environmental education, or park interpretation may be substituted for the required experience.

As a new Bureau, plans have been submitted to create several Ranger I and II positions as well as increased staffing in the seasonal program. Watch these pages or the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ employment website at www.state.ma.us/hrd/ceo/ for job announcements.
