The Mission
To provide for the protection of the resources within Massachusetts state parks, forests, reservations, bike trails, and heritage parks and the safe enjoyment of these areas by their visitors.
The Duties
- To provide a presence at DEM facilities utilizing appropriate patrol techniques.
- To assist the users by providing information on the facility and DEM regulations.
- To be available for first aid, searches for lost persons, traffic control, and park events.
- To encourage safe and proper use of DEM facilities.
- Though the use of verbal persuasion, encourage compliance with regulations. Issue citations when a violator requires more than verbal persuasion.
