2008 Iron Ranger Painting Program
|
Iron Rangers Iron rangers are cylindrical metal containers that receive financial donations to benefit our state parks system through the Conservation Trust and Urban Parks Trust Fund. The 153 Iron Rangers located in 94 parks across the state collect donations made by many of the more than 10 million visitors the Commonwealth attracts to its many state parks, beaches and forests each year. Donations received through these Iron Rangers fund educational programs and conservation projects in the parks. The Iron Rangers Painting Program, started as a pilot program in 2003, has succeeded in improving the look of many Iron Rangers and increased the donation levels, in several instances by more than 50%. View pictures of painted Iron Rangers with names of the artists and a list of locations where the Iron Rangers can be found. Look for new Iron Rangers in many urban parks in the summer of 2008.
