The Lakes and Ponds Program is working with other state agencies
and private groups to control invasive aquatic plants. We will train
citizens to identify non-native
aquatic plants; make available educational
materials; and bring the latest scientific information on vegetation
control to Massachusetts. You can order copies of a brochure with
more information about invasive plants by contacting:

Remove all plant parts from your boat motor, trailer, anchors,
fishing gear and dive gear. Dispose of plant matter above the
waterline on dry land or in a trash can.
Dispose of live well, bait water and cooling water away from
the shore after each use.
Wash your boat, preferably with hot water, and allow it to
completely dry before entering another body of water.
Help spread the word and inform boaters and others about invasive
plants.
