Planning and Engineering
The Bureau of Conservation and Recreation Planning manages land protection, resource management planning, Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC), historic and cultural resource protection, including historic landscape preservation and historic property preservation, greenways, and ecology programs. It also provides Geographic Information Systems (GIS) services to the agency. The Bureau of Project Design and Management plans, designs, and manages projects to develop or enhance park landscapes and infrastructure. The Bureau of Engineering is responsible for the engineering and construction of parkways, bridges, waterways, dams, and park and recreation facilities. The Division of Planning and Engineering also includes offices in Real Property, Capital Planning and Project Tracking, and Strategic Planning and Policy for the agency.
