A fume hood equipped for media preparation. The scale model of the Station above the hood was exhibited at the World Columbian Exposition in 1892 in Chicago, Illinois. At the Exposition, a medal was awarded to the Lawrence Experiment Station and the Massachusetts State Board of Health for significant contributions to sanitary science and engineering. The medal and model are still exhibited at the Station.
