Mission Statement
MassDEP has convened an Indoor Air Workgroup consisting of representatives from the legal, environmental consulting, and risk assessment communities, along with MassDEP staff, developers and other interested groups. The goal of the workgroup is to develop comprehensive, updated guidance for LSPs and others to use when addressing sites with vapor intrusion issues
Meetings & Agendas (when available)
A complete list of upcoming workgroup and subgroup meetings can be found at: http://indoorairproject.wordpress.com/schedule
Data Day - May 4, 2009 @ 9:00 am
As discussed at the last full Workgroup meeting, MassDEP is setting aside Monday, May 4, 2009 to discuss the role of quantitative models in the assessment of vapor intrusion sites. As part of this discussion, MassDEP is soliciting data from vapor intrusion sites in Massachusetts, particularly sites for which paired data - indoor air results and other measured concentrations (groundwater, soil gas, sub slab) -- are available. The Department has developed a spreadsheet (http://mass.gov/dep/cleanup/laws/iadata.xls) to facilitate the analysis of this data. Please submit data from your sites by April 27, 2009 for consideration at this meeting. If you would like to request 10 minutes to present your site(s) data, please email Paul Locke at Paul.Locke@state.ma.us. A draft agenda will be available before the meeting.
Participants should also familiarize themselves with he USEPA Indoor Air/Vapor Intrusion Database at http://iavi.rti.org/index.cfm.
Please check the Indoor Air Guidance Project Blog for updated information at http://indoorairproject.wordpress.com/.

Draft Technical Update: Indoor Air Threshold Values for the Evaluation of a Vapor Intrusion Pathway
June 2009 This draft technical update has been revised from the version originally posted 6/26/08 to correct Threshold Values in Table 1for three chemicals where the algorithm used to select the value was incorrectly applied, and to correct other presentation errors. These revisions are described at the end of Table 1. The text of the draft document has not changed from the 6/26/08 version. MS Word 353 KB | PDF 173 KB
