MassDEP/LSPA LSP Training Seminar

5/8 - On Wednesday, May 14, 2008 registration will open for four sessions of the upcoming course entitled "The 2007 MCP Revisions". The four sessions of this course that will take place on the following dates:

Tuesday, June 3, 2008, Holiday Inn, Holyoke, MA
Thursday, June 5, 2008, Holiday Inn, Taunton, MA
Wednesday, June 11, 2008, Radisson Hotel & Suites, Chelmsford, MA
Thursday, June 12, 2008, Doubletree Hotel, Westborough

MassDEP has submitted this seminar to the LSP Board for certification to award 2.0 hours of "MassDEP Course" regulatory continuing education credit. Course approval is pending. This is a new course. The price for each of the four sessions, which are limited to 100 attendees, is $125. The sessions will begin promptly at 9:00 AM and end at 11:00 AM.

NERO Regional Technical Night:
Regulatory Expectations & Guidelines for Notifications & Immediate Response Actions

4/29 - The seminar Regulatory Expectations and Guidelines for Notifications and Immediate Response Actions: 2 and 72-hour Notifications will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the MassDEP Northeast Regional Office, 205B Lowell Street, Wilmington, MA.

The LSP Board has approved this course for 2.0 hours of "MassDEP Course" regulatory continuing education credit (Course #1358). This is a new course that has not been given previously. Onsite registration for this seminar, which is limited to 70 attendees, begins at 4:45 PM. The seminar begins promptly at 5:00 PM and ends at 7:00 PM. The price is $20 for all attendees. The deadline to register for this seminar is Thursday, May 15, 2008.

Indoor Air Standard Operating Procedure

4/16 - MassDEP has developed an internal SOP to direct MassDEP staff actions to address vapor intrusion investigation and mitigation at disposal sites.  Please note that because the SOP was written for MassDEP staff, it contains procedural and administrative information that was developed solely for MassDEP staff use and is not applicable to the private sector. It is is not intended as guidance but may be used as a technical resource at the reader's discretion.

New Technical Assistance Grant (TAG) Round

3/18 - MassDEP is pleased to announce the Spring 2008 Round of the Technical Assistance Grant (TAG) Program for hazardous waste disposal sites.  Grants of up to $10,000 will be competitively awarded to selected communities and citizen groups to provide expert advice and public education about hazardous waste site cleanup activities.  The Application submittal deadline for this round is May 2, 2008.

Revised MCP Now Available

2/14 - MCP amendments and technical corrections were published in the Massachusetts Register on December 14, 2007. Most provisions are effective on February 14, 2008. The electronic MCP version that incorporates these amendments and technical corrections is now available.
