KEY INFORMATION
  • DEP has awarded the contract for constructing the permeable reactive barrier wall to Geo-Con, Inc.
  • The construction project is expected to begin by the end of March and take 12 weeks to complete.
  • Central Avenue will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic between West Street and Glover Road for the duration of the project.
  • A street map indicating how traffic will be re-routed is available at Table 2.
  • Construction using the bio-polymer slurry trench technique must be conducted during cooler seasonal temperatures; therefore, construction cannot be delayed to the summer months.
  • In order to shorten the overall project duration, DEP will discuss the possibility of Saturday construction work with abutters.
  • A security guard will be posted at the construction site during non-work hours.
