January 2010 Workshop Presentations
The Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) and
Department of Energy Resources (DOER) , with support from the
Environmental Business Council of New England, presented this workshop on January 19, 2010, in Holyoke.
The program focused on assessing the redevelopment potential of closed landfill sites, navigating the permitting process and harnessing state renewable energy incentives, and included case studies of two renewable energy installations on closed municipal landfills: a 500 kilowatt solar array at the Pennsauken Landfill Renewable Energy Park in New Jersey and a 1.8 megawatt wind turbine in Hull, Massachusetts.
