Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) The SWAC provides input to the Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) on solid waste regulations, policies, and programs. In addition, the SWAC serves as a forum for MassDEP to keep interested organizations and individuals up to date about these regulations, policies and programs. The SWAC has 22 members. The SWAC meets four times per year, on the fourth Thursday of January, April, June and October. Stakeholder Meetings & Workgroups: Solid Waste Master Plan (SWMP)
MassDEP held six meetings in December 2008 and January 2009 to seek comment from citizens, businesses, municipal officials and other stakeholders as it prepares to develop an updated SWMP.

As a follow-up to the stakeholder meetings, MassDEP convened seven workgroups in late Winter 2009 to support and inform the development of a new SWMP. Each workgroup met up to three times between February and April.
