Gloucester & Rockport Students Team Up To Celebrate Earth Day

7th Annual town-Wide Litter Cleanup

Annie Sargent Elementary School Waste Audit & Earth Day Educator/Entertainer Show

All trash from each classroom on April 30 will be collected at the end of the day.  Each grade will sort and weigh its trash.  When this was last done in November 2008 (to celebrate America Recycles Day), results showed that 40 percent of the trash by weight was recyclable.  The following week, there will be a brief presentation in each classroom.  On May 4, Jack Golden will perform for grades 3 through 5.  His "Garbage is My Bag" show raises awareness for the environment in a fun and direct way.
