For Public Comment: Proposed Conditional Approval of Greenhouse Gas Credits
Notice is hereby given that the Department of Environmental Protection, acting in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 111, Sections 142A through 142E, is seeking public comment on a proposed approval with conditions of an Application for Certification of GHG Credits, pursuant to 310 CMR 7.00 Appendix B(7), for the following applicant:
Climate Change Capital 818 Aspen Street, NW Washington, DC 20012
Specifically, the Department is seeking public comments on all aspects of the proposed approval with conditions of an Application for Certification of GHG Credits generated by the use of alternative gases instead of SF6 at Meridian Magnesium Products of America in Eaton Rapids, MI. In particular, the Department requests comments on provisions related to avoiding the double counting of GHG reductions, and provisions, including methodologies, related to the regulatory requirement that “where applicable, the applicant shall specify the best management practice used to determine an emissions baseline.”
