Proposed Approval of Greenhouse Gas Credits

Notice is hereby given that the Department of Environmental Protection, acting in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 111, Sections 142A through 142E, is seeking public comment on a proposed approval with conditions of an Application for Certification of GHG Credits, pursuant to 310 CMR 7.00 Appendix B(7), for the following applicant:

PMI Ash Technologies, LLC
14001 Weston Parkway, Suite 112
Cary, NC 27513

Specifically, the Department is seeking public comments on all aspects of the proposed approval with conditions of an Application for Certification and Verification of GHG Credits generated by the processing and subsequent use of coal ash generated at Chesapeake, Virginia Carbon Burn-Out (CBO) Plant in place of Portland cement.

Persons wishing to review the application and proposed approval may do so Monday through Friday, during business hours at the Boston office of the Department of Environmental Protection, 1 Winter Street, Boston, MA. (Please contact Stacy DeGabriele at stacy.h.degabriele@state.ma.us or 617-292-5864 in advance.) In addition, the proposed approval with conditions is available on the MassDEP web site at http://www.mass.gov/dep/public/publiche.htm.

Comments will be accepted until July 20, 2009, and should be submitted electronically to climate.strategies@state.ma.us, or mailed or delivered to:
