NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) will hold public hearings on proposed regulations to implement portions of the Mercury Management Act (M.G.L. Chapter 21H, Sections 6D, 6E, 6F, 6I, 6K, 6L and 6N). 

The proposed regulations implement a prohibition on the disposal of products containing mercury, a ban on the sale of certain products containing mercury, and labeling requirements for products containing mercury.

Acting in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. c. 21C, Sections 4 and 6 (the Hazardous Waste Management Act), MassDEP will hold six public hearings at the times and places set forth below. Public hearings will be conducted under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30A on:
