Mercury Certification for Vehicle Recyclers & Mobile Crushers

Any business that crushes or arranges to crush end-of-life vehicles is required to certify annually that it has removed all mercury components from vehicles before crushing.

Massachusetts Mercury Management Act: 2006 Amendments to M.G.L. Chapter 21H

Section 6C requires vehicle manufactures to implement their own mercury switch recycling programs by January 1, 2007, or to provide automotive recyclers with financial incentives for recycling mercury switches by August 1, 2007.
