Covanta of SEMASS MSP4: January 2007 to December 2009

MassDEP extended Material Separation Plan 4 (MSP4) through calendar year 2009 revising the expiration date to December 31, 2009.  The extension of MSP4 reflects an agreement between MassDEP and each facility that the programs outlined in MSP4 address priority areas and that no significant programmatic changes are needed at this time.  The extension will also provide time to assess whether the Mercury Management Act disposal prohibition, in effect as of May 1, 2008, creates new program opportunities and priorities for MSP5.
